Abstract

The aim of this paper is to demonstrate the validity of the relationship
between digital skills and health literacy, which serves as a key indicator
for measuring the quality of life among older adults. Health and literacy,
as key resources in the daily lives of older adults, are currently undergoing
several changes, the most significant of which is digitalization. Under the
influence of digitalization, not only are established approaches and methods
of healthcare delivery changing—including disease prevention and health
promotion—but so is the adoption of these measures to improve health.
Today, society expects seniors to take responsibility for their own health, to
learn how to monitor and manage their health in order to maintain their
independence for as long as possible. They are not only able to schedule a
doctor’s appointment and read medical materials, but also possess other
skills, including the ability to obtain, read, understand, and use public
health-related information to live well.
